A feeling of light and space on every floor of this beautiful home...
GCD were asked to help with the top to bottom renovation of this Victorian house in Fulham last year, having worked for the client’s family on many projects over the years. The brief was to open out the house for the young family who were moving in, creating large interconnecting spaces with a light and airy feel.
Lower ground or basement renovations present two specific challenges - ensuring a seamless connection between the basement and the rest of the house and finding a way to bring natural light to the lower floors.
A particular highlight for us was the fabulous master bedroom and bathroom which takes up an entire floor. Working closely with our bathroom designer and our client (who has a wonderful eye for design) the master bathroom features modern porcelain tiles laid in a herringbone style and antique brass fittings which sit beautifully together.
Alongside the bespoke kitchen and joinery throughout the home created by skilled craftsmen, it offers a real sanctuary from busy London life.
But the result was something truly special for the homeowners. They told us: “We honestly couldn’t recommend GCD more highly and still can’t believe the complete transformation the house has gone through in the six month time frame we gave you!”
