Undertaken with private clients, this historic lodge has been painstakingly restored to its former glory after years of neglect. Considerable effort went into the sympathetic restoration of the exterior to soften the façade and the previously added wings. Internally, the building was totally gutted and reshaped to create 'flow' and warmth. In the process, the re-introduction of period features – cornices, fireplaces and architraves – was combined with contemporary twists – specialist wall finishes, state-of-the-art lighting and bespoke joinery – to stunning effect. The extensive work had to satisfy Crown Estate, listed building and building control without compromising the stylish requirements of our clients. The end result is a magnificent house developed for modern living.
